What it is

Sermorelin (GHRH 1-29 amide) is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the first 29 amino acids of native 44-amino-acid human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), the shortest fragment shown in early pituitary physiology research to retain full biological activity at the GHRH receptor. It belongs to the GHRH-analog class of secretagogue peptides.

Research has examined sermorelin's binding to GHRH receptors on pituitary somatotroph cells and the resulting stimulation of growth hormone synthesis and pulsatile release, using in vitro pituitary cell assays and animal models to characterize hypothalamic-pituitary axis signaling.
