What it is

KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is a tripeptide corresponding to the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Unlike full-length alpha-MSH, KPV appears to retain anti-inflammatory activity independent of classical melanocortin receptor binding.

In vitro and animal-model research has examined KPV's effects on NF-kB signaling and pro-inflammatory cytokine production, including studies using models of intestinal and dermal inflammation.
