What it is

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide belonging to the growth hormone releasing peptide (GHRP) class, characterized as a selective agonist of the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R). It was developed to isolate growth-hormone-releasing receptor activity from off-target pituitary hormone effects associated with earlier-generation secretagogues.

Studied in research for

Research using primary pituitary cell cultures and animal models has examined ipamorelin's selective GHS-R activation and its capacity to stimulate growth hormone release without corresponding increases in ACTH, cortisol, or other pituitary hormones.
